Spring Equinox ignites astrological New Year
The Spring Equinox occurred on March 20, as the sun entered fiery Aries, and we began the astrological New Year. Aries is the first of twelve signs of the zodiac, leading the way with inspiration, passion and drive. People born with the sun, moon, or rising sign in Aries are playful, outgoing, direct and impatient, often so focused on a goal that they fail to nurture personal relationships. Natural born leaders, Aries people provide the drive for others to follow, and if they have mature vision and lead with wisdom, they can accomplish much in a short span of time.
Planetary aspects bring harmony but ask for patience
As the winter season gives way to spring, we experience a new burst of life-force energy. The natural desire is to move forward with characteristic Aries enthusiasm to start new projects, but with Mercury retrograde (apparent backwards motion) until April 12, it is best to wait until later in the month. April begins with many favorable planetary aspects, including a Venus-sun conjunction that brings a delightful and harmonious sense of romance and fun. In the first week of April, Mars adds passion, and other planetary aspects bring creative inspiration. Total eclipse tests our inner motivations
On April 8, we have a near total eclipse of the sun, visible in the southern U.S., Central America, the Caribbean, South America and New Zealand. A solar eclipse brings changes of a fundamental nature into our lives. The solar eclipse in Aries will affect each of us differently, depending on where it falls in our natal astrological charts, but common themes are apparent for everyone. Among these are changes in how we interpret our first impulses in any situation, and changes in how we act upon our initial responses.
